This tutorial teaches you how to insert an image into a Joomla article using the JCE Editor.

1. Login to your Joomla Administration panel.

2. Go to the Article Manager (Content/Article Manager).

3. Open the article you wish to edit.

4. Click on the place in the article content where you want the image to appear.

5. Click on the Insert/Edit image icon in the article editor.

6. If the image is already on the server in the images folder, browse to the image and select it so the path to the image displays in the URL window at the top of the Image Manager.

If you wish to upload the image to your web server, click the File Upload Button above the Details column on the right.

Click the Add button and browse to the image you want to upload, then click Open.

Click the Upload button.

Close the Upload window.

7. Select the image name in the middle column of the Image Manager. Make sure the path to the image shows in the URL box at the top.

8. At this point you can adjust some additional settings for your image if you wish.

In the Alternate Text box at the top (under the URL box) type in the text that you want to appear when the image is moused over and the little window pops up. This text is also used by visually impaired visitors to your site.

If you want the text of your article to flow around the image down one side or another, select the Alignment drop down box and then set it to Left or Right, depending on which side of the page you wish your image to appear on. To add a little margin space around your image so the text doesn't butt up against the sides of the image, add values to the margin boxes, as in the settings shown below.
